NorLEG - The North Leigh Events Organising Group
Our group emerged from a small group of people who got together to organise the very successful Diamond Jubilee Street Party celebrations in 2012.
Our aim is to organise community events which will give opportunities for people to get to know each other and get involved in a variety of ways.
We work hard to engage with community groups and offer opportunities for them to take an active part in events and to raise money for their own needs.
To date we have worked with the Youth Project, the Art Group, the Children's Society, and the Memorial Hall Committee and the Methodist Church in arranging fund-raising events.
We have also engaged with the Library, Primary School, Masons Arms, local History Group, Bell-ringers, and St Mary's Church and hope to established more links as time goes on.
Each year we organise a Village Garage Sale in April, and the Fawth Festival Celebrations in June which have included:
- a scarecrow trail
- a village quiz
- historical information about local buildings
- an art exhibition
- a pig roast
- live music
- tea and cakes
We also actively support the annual Christmas Tree Festival which akes place in St Mary's Church.
We welcome new members to our group so please get in touch if you would like to offer your support and expertise. We usually meet on Monday evenings at 7.30 in the Masons Arms
